 There are a number of projects under the Project Gateway umbrella. They aim to meet the needs of the poor and empower the disadvantaged. The number of projects and the needs that they seek to address is always changing. Project Gateway has always been intended as a ‘Gateway’ both in and out for projects and individuals, and over time the individuals and groups which have been cared for and nurtured, are able to establish themselves as independent projects and find themselves ready to leave through the ‘Gateway’. This then allows others in so that they can also be mentored and developed. The current projects are listed below, along with projects that are now independent:

Business Development Programme - providing training in business skills, marketing support and mentoring for entrepreneurs starting new businesses

Duduza- providing care for children affected or infected by HIV/AIDS

Ethembeni - tackling the HIV/AIDS problem, TB, and other health related issues.

Esther House - providing care, support and shelter for vulnerable women and their children who have suffered domestic abuse.

Gateway Christian School - providing affordable, quality education in a Christian environment

Pregnancy Care Centre - providing counselling, advice, pregnancy testing and accommodation for women in crisis, in the last stages of pregnancy

Rural Home Industries - training disadvantaged women in skills such as sewing, knitting, baking and basic healthcare in rural communities

Sunset Overnight Shelter - providing beds and food for the homeless of Pietermaritzburg and surrounding areas.

Gateway School of Fashion - providing young people affected by HIV/AIDS with the skills necessary to build a career in the fashion business and improve their own and their families' lives.

Zandla Xpressions - offering local, national and international marketing support to small enterprises producing handcrafted products made at Project Gateway and in the surrounding areas.
