Getting so we can give...
It is the vision of Project Gateway that we become self-sustainable. Relying on donors isn't a sustainable way of helping our communities. In 2000 Project Gateway set up the Gateway Enterprise Trust, a profit-making trust . This enterprise makes money through activities such as selling local produce globally. The profit from this is then entirely poured back into running our projects.
Zandla Xpressions operates under this umbrella, allowing it to sustain Gateway through trade which isn't within non-profit guidelines.
The Old Prison Cafe was launched towards the end of 2008 as another channel through which to raise funds and work towards self-sustainability.
The Issachar Trust was set up to raise funds which are then used in community projects. The fund raising initiatives currently under the Issachar Trust umbrella are; Tourism, Volunteers and Teams, and Conference Venues
